A quick, delicious stir-fry made with tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and a sweet-savory honey garlic sauce. Perfect for a fast weeknight meal.
Ingredients (4 servings)
For the chicken and vegetables:
- 500 g (1 lb) chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium carrot, thinly sliced
- 1 small broccoli head, cut into florets
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the honey garlic sauce:
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)
- 2 tablespoons water (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and rice vinegar.
If you want a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and add it to the bowl.
2. Cook the chicken
Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
Season the sliced chicken with salt and pepper.
Add the chicken to the hot pan and cook for 5–6 minutes until golden and fully cooked.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
3. Stir-fry the vegetables
In the same pan, add the bell peppers, carrot, and broccoli.
Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring often, until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
4. Combine everything
Return the chicken to the pan.
Pour in the honey garlic sauce and mix well.
Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and vegetables.
5. Serve
Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or enjoy on its own.
Garnish with sesame seeds or spring onions if desired.
Tips
- You can replace chicken with beef, tofu, or shrimp.
- Add chili flakes if you prefer it spicy.
